Turda Gorge

Cheile Turzii or Turda Gorge is a natural formation that stretches for approximately 2.9 kilometers (1.8 miles), with its walls reaching heights of up to 300 meters (980 feet) which makes the place a paradise for hiking and climbing.

Arriving in the Gorge

There are mainly 2 places to park. One that near to bars that is free of charge, and one going down the hill that costs 30 Lei/ 6 € for the day.

Up in the hill there are many places to eat and enjoy the day.

The also have a zipline if you are seeking for adventure, not super sure about the price.

Paradise for hiking

The gorge features a network of well-marked trails suitable for various skill levels. One of the most popular routes is the trail that runs along the Hășdate River, offering hikers stunning views of the towering cliffs, lush greenery, and cascading waterfalls. The trails are not overly challenging, making them accessible to both seasoned hikers and beginners looking for a scenic walk.

Climbing

The are also more than 500 routes from, many of them are fairly easy to access as they will be a few meter from the main path, of even in the path itself.

You can find here the guide in the The Crag website, the only thing is that is not super easy to recognize the places and match with the routes described in the website. Looking for the routes’ name can help.

If you are going for climbing, you will definitely find other climbers that can help you identify the routes.
